Company History

Coombe Valley Transport Limited is a family business established in Dover over a century ago by Mr John Husk, grandfather of the present owner Martin Husk.

Mrs Ellen May Husk, wife of the late Arthur E. Husk, founder of Coombe Valley Transport (a subsidiary of J. Husk Limited) and the mother of Martin Husk is a Director of the company and continues to take a great interest; and was particularly instrumental in the inception of Coombe Valley Transport.

Coombe Valley Transport Limited remains a family business. Martin Husk has three sons, the youngest, Tim 19 has just left college whilst the middle son Adam 25, is a Technician with a large Mercedes Garage Chain. The eldest son Matthew 27, already works for his father and holds a Class 1 license. His duties take him to all parts of Europe.

The company has come a very long way since it's beginning, one hundred years ago when there were just three horse drawn carts. The first lorry was acquired in 1919, expansion over recent years has included the acquisition of another local transport company, which increased not only the customer database, but the fleet of modern vehicles from 12 to 21.
